entry-level analyst careers?

Posted by Jaelae Smith on October 25, 1997 at 15:01:17:

I am currently an interviewer at a small marketing
research firm. I have a B.A. in Psychology and
a lot of people-oriented experience. Although I have
a degree in a "soft" science, I took Calculus,
Statistics and Data Analysis, and Experimental Approaches
Psychological Research. I also gained experience as a
lab assistant in different research labs as an
undergraduate.

My rates as an interviewer are very good. I've
performed above the budgeted average on the three jobs
I've been assigned. But after two weeks of interviewing, I am getting antsy.
Although I enjoy talking with people, I feel I also
have great potential for problem-solving, analysing,
and writing.

Are there any suggestions for how I can prevent
burn-out in the interviewing profession before I have
a chance to network within the company?

And how could I better (more quickly) maneuver a
transition from academic/people-oriented work to
business/analyst research?

Thanks for any feedback,
Jaelae Smith
