I am curious who out there has tried to use charitable donations as respondent incentives for business-to-business respondents (particularly high tech professionals, but I suppose that's a long shot...)
My firm has historically offered either cash incentives or, for smaller quant surveys, an entry into a drawing for cash or palm pilot-type giveaways. Our respondents are always business professionals, not consumers, and most of the time they are high tech professionals like IT Managers.
My manager is interested in registering respondents for a drawing to "win" a charitable donation, in the respondent's name, to the organization of his/her choice.
Anyone ever tried this? Did it change response rates? Biased sample? What do you think?
