I'm not worried about that as far as this project goes.
My interviews with riders in the first stage of development of this project, indicate our riders are very positive about VIA. Those with experience of other transit systems make positive comparisons.
I don't think most people here realize how positive rider sentiment is. Why not? Because on a daily basis people deal with, and feel pressure to correct, more complaints than compliments.
Not that the service is perfect.
So my political worry is not about external embarassment, but internal, on a departmental level. As I said to all management when I interviewed them, when you do this sort of study someone's area has to look low. However I discussed those pitfalls with my boss and with the AGM.
