As an occasional cowardly anonymous poster, I wouldn't have a problem with the registration process described in your last post. My thought was more along the lines that it might be seen as a hassle and discourage new or casual visitors from investigating/contributing. Not sure if that's good or bad.
It will probably be a mix of good and bad. It may discourage the occasional "coward" from adding their stuff, but should greatly reduce the amount of commercial (spam) posts as well.
