start with kotler chapter 9; mind if the stratgist by Kenichi ohmae is great stuff. anmd theres a book called segemnting the mature market by carol morgan and donald levy. also if you go to esomar (eurpoean society of opinion and marketing research), they are on the web, they will guide you to several published papers on segmentation. also 4 growth.com. I am from india - an emerging market with a lot of special segmentation issues!
