I'm involved in market research design and data processing since the 80´s.
I've worked for a while as freelance with a lot of market research companies and MR departments of large corporations, and it seemed to me that they applied little, if not nothing of their talents and techniques to their own business.
Now that I have worked inside of two of them, I can say that it was true.
Even that you will think that asking to do some kind of investigation during a strategic meeting would have a good response, most of the time I've found senior staff answers of "we already know everything we have to know", or something like that.
Have anyone had the same experience?
Have you convinced them of acting different, or at least accepting to start a "lightweight" research?
(I´ll come back on Monday)
