The dismissal of online research in prior comments is foolhardy. With sophisticated weighting techniques, it's altogether possible to conduct research online and derive results generalizable to the entire population. Granted, this requires the collection of some pretty thorough information about the respondents' demographic and cybergraphic traits - but I'd rather tackle the task of collecting that info than be stuck in the slow lane of research.
