Dave, I have read Jon's distribution, and lacking any other empirical data, they seem reasonable.
The real trick is to understand these weights in a market through long-term, empirical work. In crop chemical work I did in the past, we used a .9 weight on top-box only and found that to be very accurate on many studies. However, I would assume this weight was market specific.
