Hi Camille,

It depends very much on who you want to attract and what you want to communicate about yourself. There is some very good research around on colour which you should look into but as a guide line, here is some interesting information I picked up:

Blue (and shades thereof) - understanding - customer requires interaction, empathy and support, community oriented

Green (and shades thereof) - surprise - customer requires ideas, options, flexibility, fun and creative

Purple (and shades thereof) - consistency - customer requires practical solutions, reliability, predictability and is price sensitive.

Orange (and shades thereof) - customer wants responsive and fast service, is time sensitive, competitive and professional.

You should also be careful of relying to much on theory and literature and try (as much as possible) to work from what customer information and marketing intelligence you have on your target market.
