Sr. Director/VP Research and Analytics

Sr. Director/VP Research and Analytics sought be successful data analytics and software company in their San Francisco offices - seeking a proven hands-on leader to lead our marketing research department. You are someone who is capable of taking on new responsibilities without a lot of hand-holding; who enjoys "wearing many hats" at the same time; has a strong aptitude for detail-oriented work and is adept building effective working relationships quickly. You must be passionate about marketing research and analytics, have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, have the ability to meet tight deadlines, and have the ability to mentor junior researchers. You will liaison externally with clients, client agencies, and client researchers. Internally you will liaison with internal Account Management, Engineering, and Sales teams to ensure accuracy and timeliness of project execution. The position requires excellent follow-through and a firm communication style.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain and develop relationships with key client personnel and assist in developing new business
• Lead and direct all marketing research operational activities for assigned projects and/or clients
• Translate client issues into study design, develop and execute against analysis plans
• Coordinate internal (or external) resources to deliver on projects
• Assist in decisions regarding the future strategic direction of our company
• Oversee and manage project staff with respect to programming, data collection activities, incidence, tab creation, and overall quality control
Requirements include:
• 8-15 years marketing research experience, at least 8 years of which has been spent at a custom marketing research supplier or in a hands-on agency
• Extensive knowledge of all major marketing research methodologies
• Strong quantitative marketing research skills , hands-on project management skills, marketing mix experience
• Strong writing and presentation skills
• An entrepreneurial spirit is must
• Ability to manage and develop client relationships
• Strong Excel and Power Point skills. Hands on SPSS and/ or SAS skills. Questionnaire development skills
• Management skill is must - there would be 2-4 direct reports
• A Master Degree in any quantitative disciplines (statistics, econometrics, behavioral science, etc.) is must, PhD is preferred
